How-To: Braid your Bulbs

What? Braiding your bulbs? An updo for tulips? A French braid for daffodils?

My friend Micaela showed me this trick to keep the leaves of your bulbs neat after they are done flowering. It also helps identify where your bulbs are once the leaves wither and brown.

I just took three clumps of dragging leaves from our fading alums, trying to make sure they were from the same bulb so that I could later pull them out easily, and braided as you would hair.

It added an almost harvesty look to the garden.
